Autumn Outgoing

Good Morning!

Autumn is my favourite season! So of course it calls for autumn mail. I found this cute little set at Yurindo by chance. I bought it a little while but have only just got around to using it. Now I wish I had bought two sets and used it sooner. So before winter is upon us I’m gonna get these out today (fingers crossed). I may make my own leaves if I find the time and manage to get my arse in gear to send them out fairly soon-ish. I wish I had more time for autumn mail but I’m gearing up for Christmas. I still have to get proper use out of my autumn stamps (these I will include in a new ‘Stationery Stash’ post).

For me autumn is an in between time there are still some warm day and not yet ridiculously cold. I love it for its beautiful colours, crisp air, conkers, leaf kicking, cocoa, chunky knits, chicken soup, contemplating Christmas and curling up indoors all cosy. It’s the calm before the crazy of Christmas and the review and the regrets of the year that is coming to an end. I miss autumn in England though, I will miss Bonfire night and the Diwali celebrations. Oh well Chirstmas at home will have to do, but for now lets enjoy the season!

‘Autumn wins you best by this its mute appeal to sympathy for its decay.’
-Robert Browning

‘Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty,
as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.'
-Lauren DeStefano, Wither

‘No spring nor summer's beauty hath such grace
As I have seen in one Autumnal face....’
-John Donne, "Elegy IX: The Autumnal"

‘Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower’.
-Albert Camus

‘Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it,
and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns’.
-George Eliot

  1. I love those leaves and quotes so much! Beautiful. I like to extend Autumn right through the end of November at least. To me, winter begins in December (I guess technically that *is* when the winter solstice is anyway). :) You still have time!

  2. Yup we have one more month, but realistic I don't think I'll manage it. I'm working on some family mail but on a Japanese theme ,no autumn. And I'm all caught up on my pen pals for now so no need. Next year I will be more organised with the seasonal mail. I'm glad I managed to get these out though.
